Robyn & Jonathan’s Rustic Wedding

We first meet Robyn a year before her wedding, and although it seemed a long time before the big day, she knew exactly what she wanted …her level of organisation may have been part because of her job as a project manager in Wellington. Although a tom boy at heart, Robyn’s attention to detail was amazing with hand painted candle holders, flax flowers and vintage tea cup sets.

The wedding was to be held at a family farm where Robyn grew up and where she and Jonathan spent a lot of their time in the early stages of their relationship. After 17 years together and a gorgeous son to show for it, they thought it was about time to tie the knot!

A rustic style wedding was planned with a large marquee set in a sheltered paddock. The ceremony area was a short distance from the marquee beside a babbling stream where earlier in the day the groom and best man cooled off with a pre wedding dip.

Furniture from the farm house was used to decorate the marquee, with hay bales as seating for the ceremony and an old claw bath for chilling the beverages.

The weather on the day couldn’t have been more perfect. A highlight was seeing the bride climbing over the neighbour’s number eight wire fence at sunset, to then mount a horse bareback for some stunning photos. Although a city girl now, you will never take the country from Robyn’s heart!
